NoCo | Worthington Firehouse Trip

We were fortunate enough to take a trip to the Norton Commons Worthington Fire Station today. Vaughn was in fire truck Heaven. He wouldn't stop saying truck and pointing the first five minutes we were there.
The kids got to watch one of the fire fighters dress up in his gear and then give him a high five. They taught stop-drop-roll-&cover. Yep, cover is new. Cover your face. This might seem like a no brain'er to some of us... but I guess they felt they needed to add it.
We talked about fire evacuation plans and other odds and ends.
The kids got to play in the trucks, until the alarm sounded and then it was everyone to the dock and the kids got to watch the fire fighters suit up and go out on a REAL fire run.
It was really neat to see how fast, calm and organized those guys were (or looked). I mean it was about 2 minutes from start of call to out the door for these guys - even with a ton of kids in the way.
Here are some photos of the day:

This photo makes me so happy that there are wives who are good enough (and hubbies too) to share their spouse's talents with us that we might be safe and rescued in time of need. I could not imagine sending my husband to work every day at a fire/police/armed forces job. I really admire those women who do.
