Do you do that? | Not-So-Secret Confessions

Okay, so anyone who knows me knows that I share practically every deal I get in hopes that it helps others get that deal too.

I am the same way with tip and tricks.

So --- the other day I was talking with a new friend and the conversation went something like this:

Her: "How do you do that?"
Me: "Do what?"
Her: "Roll out of bed and go, have a flawless zit-free face, and wear designer clothes?"
Me: Gasping, trying to find words, can't muster sentence, didn't know she saw me this way, finally admits, "I cheat."

Here it is folks:

1. I get up at the butt crack of dawn to wash and do my hair (IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME). Or I do it the night before and do curls with a 1" flat iron and then tease and spray the next morning for a tossled look. I can't stand greasy hair, and the lighter you are the quicker it looks like a nasty grease pit.

2. I use PROACTIVE. Yep, I am not blessed with flawless skin. I use it folks. And I LOVE IT! It is worth EVERY darn penny. Plus, since I love my eyes and think they are my best feature, I ALWAYS wear mascara and it distracts from everything else anyways. I do not leave the house without powder, lipgloss and mascara on. It takes like two seconds (those who want to throw excuses at me).

3. Last but not least -- I don't always wear designers and if I do, I rarely (barely) ever pay full price - even on my mid-price point chain stores like Buckle & GAP(whom I totally heart right now).

I have bits and pieces, but I know my brands and shop the sales (VonMaur I heart you!) I layer, mix it up and developed my own personal style for every occasion, so it looks more expensive than it is. And when in doubt, I look up a tutorial and MAKE it! Since shabby chic (polite way of saying home made and not always great) is in right now. Plus, buy the shoes... they make any outfit look more expensive. :)

So those are my Not-So-Secret confessions.

  1. I love your confessions! It is nice to know little bits and pieces about you! I have debated proactive, since I have VERY sensitive skin. Think it would work? Can you use it when pregnant? NO, I'M NOT, by the way. You do have amazing style! I love how you make it your own.

I hope you let me continue to view your blog. As a newbie of sorts in photogrsphy, it is nice to see your work. I also love your photography tips! I'm sure that would be soooooo aggravating to hear that someone stole your work!
