Ten Unknowns Facts For Twenty-Ten + One Bonus Soap Box for the Decade

This is not a spammy, pokey, stupid "tag" post - so don't feel obligated to do it after reading mine (all two of you that actually have blogs that read this blog). Many of you may eye roll, mutter freak, or just plain gag at my list, but I wanted to jot it down for prosperity.

I decided to start 2010 off with ten facts about me that most of you don't know. Kind of a list of closet obsessions mingled with blissful dreams and wishes.

Here goes...

1. I am a hootie freak! No, not the band, the figure. Owls, you know hooties, are one of the cutest little things to me, especially in conjunction with polk-a-dots. Not just any hooties mind you... VINTAGE (or vintage style) hooties really get me ooh'ing and aah'ing.

2. I love anything damask printed. The two toned floral elegance is just awesome. I lust after a cream-and-black raised velvet damask couch in a formal living room one day. Preferable paired with turquoise.

3. I am painfully artsy on the inside and love all bohemian chic things. It is just an expensive wardrobe to upkeep... hence the shirts and jeans. I would spend every dime I had for clothing expenses at ModCloth, Francesca's and expensive upscale vintage inspired stores of the like if I could.

4. I want Barbie-doll blonde hair with a weaved cotton candy pink highlight just in the sweepy bang area. Yes, you can all scream and judge me now. Go ahead mom, roll your eyes and mutter freak! But you all know how well I pulled off my purple phase and let's not forget my awesome blue phase.

5. I want to revisit my blue hair, just in a longer cut. Now that I look back... short is SOOOO not my thing. My dad was right. His girls do look way cuter with long hair. Meh'

6. I want to redecorate my house. Every three to six months I rearrange my furniture. I am not sure why, but I do. It is odd, I LOVE change. So much that if someone would do all the packing and moving, I'd unpack and set up shop in a new apartment/home every few years just to get a different experience. I love experiencing life in new and different ways. (hence the hair and furniture redecorating)

7. Lemon scented floor cleaner smell brings back fond memories of my childhood. Odd, again, I know. Every time I pour some into scalding (and I mean darn near ouchie hot) water I have flashbacks of my childhood.

8. In conjunction with #7, I do not think linoleum floors are properly cleaned with swiffers, mops, brooms, or tile sweepers. Sorry all you swiffer enthusiasts... I love mine too - but for spot cleans and keeping my son busy "helping" when I am cleaning. A floor isn't a clean floor without a good hands-and-knees scrubbing at least once a week. I am not even sure my hubby knows I do this... I am a closeted floor scrubber. :) Again, fond childhood memories.

9. I LOVE TO USE MY VACUUM! I ♥ the "sweeper lines" it puts into my carpet. There is something about a good vacuuming that makes me feel refreshed. Even if the house is upside down, those lines make me feel a tinsy bit better while I tackle the mess. A Dyson to me is like the Holy Mecca of Sweepers - VLine Bliss.

10. Okay, this is going to sound absolutely snotty but --- I love me. It has taken me many years to love who I am, what I do, what I am good at, and how my life is turning out. I am dead serious. If you don't love yourself, then who can? who will? You have to love who you are, before you can love others and find the love in who they are. You have to be okay knowing that no matter how successful you are in your talents there will always be those who don't see them like others do. Just keep doing them even if your success isn't recognized. Sometimes knowing that my work will be there forever, even if it's forgotten who did it, is so fun. Kind of a way of immortalizing myself. Let's face it... everyone wants to be remembered for something -- my something sticks around! How awesome is that!?! I know... sounds like I am talking in rounds.

And one more thing... my new years resolution of sorts... jumping on soapbox.

----- Find New and Exciting Ways to Reinvent Being a Stay-At-Home Mom ----

I would love to get rid of the title stay-at-home all together! My reason, I sure as heck don't spend much time at home or even in my neighborhood. It pains me to hear these stereotypes from those who haven't tried it. V and I are an on-the-go kind of duo. We travel, we shop, we play outdoors, we find new things, we do playgroups, we have FUN!

I am a trendy, mod, throwback to the 50's in a good way type of mother! Yes, I do enjoy cooking dinner for my hubby and having it ready when he walks in the door (I guess this is becoming a rarity). It does make me feel good. I guess I am selfish because I do it more for the warm fuzzies it gives me than the full belly it gives him. Lol. I love when I meet women of this quickly dying breed.

I love being a mom. That is what I've wanted to do from day one... be a mom. It is so fulfilling! It is so fun! I love watching V grow up and knowing that when he does something, I taught him that! I guess that is what I found so fun about being a nanny - when half those kids grow up they will remember that I taught them how to ride a bike, tie a shoe, read books, or say their ABC's. It is just those reasons that I love being a mom. I love being me, thank you Trevor and Vaughn. You help me to want for nothing - because with you two, I have everything! :)
