Fix-It-Friday | i ♥ faces family week

As most of you know, I work as a digital retouch artist for NILMDTS. It was i ♥ faces weekly Fix-It-Friday that first made me notice the photography site. I was searching for a certain technique to use on a photo for NILMDTS and happened upon a Fix-It-Friday. I have always participated privately - seeing what I can come up with. I figured it is time to jump in with both feet considering I am now doing the weekly challenges as well.

And here are my edited versions - one in color and one in a chocolate toned b&w {a great balance between straight sepia and flat b&w}:

No actions were run on this photo. All edits were done step by step.
- Adjusted the levels.
- Selected faces and adjusted the curves.
- Crop
- Rotation
- Re-crop
- Used quick layer mask to select areas that were blown out.
- Used curve tool to adjust selected areas.
- Used the burn tool to add some depth to the edges.
- Filled a layer with brown and overlayed that to warm it up a bit.
- Merged layers.

No actions were run on this photo. All edits were done step by step.
- Desat the color image.
- Filled a new layer with a brown hue. Chose a color burn and opacity to achieve a look I liked.
- Filled a new layer with a peach hue. Chose an overlay and opacity to achieve a look I liked.
- Changed the contrast and brightness (+ for both)
- Merged layers.
