Three Word Sunday

We have been participating in 3 Word Sunday over at PugMama's blog and I am sure if you are a regular reader (or dash back in the archives), you have seen a few around. If you haven't spent some time at her blog, click on the link and spend some time reading. It really is a great read, especially for those interested in International Adoption from oh, say, CHINA!

Here is our submission for this week's 3WS.

We were getting our new "winter gear" all tried on (much easier to do at home than in the store).

Today we also talked about the Mid-Autumn (Moon) Festival and shared a mooncake. And get this, it was cold enough for V to wear his jacket outside to get a peek at the moon. Score! Read More About The Moon Festival Here.

Nickelodeon was even nice enough to replay Friday's episode of Ni Hao Kai Lan that explained the Moon Festival in kiddie terms. V just loves Kai Lan - all of his own accord! This, of course, makes me thrilled - and wonder if some things (such as my odd love of all things Asian) are genetic! Don't tell V, but he is getting a Kai Lan that talks for Christmas. I know, a little bit girly, but he goes ga-ga over it whenever we are in Target and I let him press the button that makes her talk. He loves to give her a bào-bào(hug) and is so intrigued by her.

Thank you Tea Station owner and family for letting me in on your secret place of where to purchase mooncakes, I must have bought enough sushi and slushies for you to deem me worthy! It was fun to talk to the owner (a Chinese man) and get all the low down on the holiday/festival since our dear friend Weiting is all the way across the world back in his home country of Taiwan. We had such fun celebrating Chinese New Year with him - dried fish and all! Weiting, you were greatly missed by the Mathis family today my friend.

We even were able to take Trevor some lunch today at the hospital. It is rare that we can pop in and bring Daddy lunch. V was very happy for this mid-day Daddy-time treat! He is quickly becoming a Daddy's boy.

I also have to say a great big thank you to Michelle and Brandon Nielson for all the help they have been the last month. Seriously, I would not have made it through without their help. Michelle is such an awesome bestie. I feel like I have hit the friend JACKPOT! She has let me cry on her kitchen floor, laughed at my not-so-funny jokes and let me annoy her on Trev's call days by sitting around her house. Thanks Michelle.

Vaughn must feel the same kind of love and appreciation for the Nielsons as I do, because other than Trevor and I... they are the only people he will reach for. He really loves them! Today I got him out of the car at Costco and he reached for Michelle to hold him. He will plop down on Brandon's lap for a snuggle during church (when we are locked in the hallways). I don't know how I could do Sundays without such great friends!
